About Patrick Dewey

Patrick Dewey joined the Hanford Mills Museum team in February, 2022. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications Studies from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. Patrick is a journalist who has written for Cooperstown area newspapers for more than five years. He has a passion for connecting with public audiences through a variety of communication channels.  He enjoys partnering with stakeholders to share the history of the milling industry and the local area, as well as get the word out about current happenings in and around the museum. Patrick’s favorite equipment represented at Hanford Mills is the shingle mill because it is a wonderful example of how through ingenuity and creativity, woodworking processes were able to happen with an efficiency which was revolutionary during the peak of the milling era. In his free time, Patrick enjoys listening to music. You might also find Patrick looking for the audio version of a book he’s just learned about. He is interested in a variety of books genres from suspense to biographies and sociology. He enjoys the book A Man Called Ove because of its lessons about staying positive.
