Hanford Mills Museum – A Piece of History in Meredith, NY
Experience a story of innovation, ingenuity and entrepreneurship at a historic working mill site. Sheltered in a valley in the northwestern Catskills of New York, Hanford Mills Museum offers insights into the past and lessons about the relationships between people, the things they make, and the places they live.
The Museum and mill site is open for our 50th Anniversary season. We are offering tours at 10:30, noon, 1:30 and 3:00 Wednesday through Sunday until October 15. Reservations are suggested as tour size is limited and can be made using our Reservation Form here or by calling 607-278-5744.
Now that Hanford Mills Museum is open for the season and schools are still in session, our education programs and staff are at the peak of the spring field trip season. In order to provide an optimal experience for both student groups and the general public, we especially recommend calling ahead if you are thinking about visiting on a Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday this time of year. We are happy to work with you to find a time when we have space available on our mill tours. Thank you for your understanding!
Our 2023 Ice Harvest took place Friday afternoon (noon-4pm) and Saturday (10am-3pm), February 10 and 11! For more information, click here to visit our Ice Harvest webpage.
