SPOOM Miller’s Training

Hanford Mills Museum is hosting a Miller’s Training on Wednesday, October 17, prior to the 2018 SPOOM Conference. Hanford Mills Museum’s Mill Complex includes a sawmill, gristmill, and woodworking shop with power generated by a waterwheel, water turbine, and reconstructed steam plant. The training will focus on the steam plant but will also include a variety of other machines and systems. The day will include training on the maintenance and operation of the following:

  • Steam boiler and steam engine maintenance and operation
  • Water turbine
  • Attrition mill
  • Sawmill
  • Line shaft system, including babbitt bearings

Fee: $60, includes lunch

Class will be limited to fifteen participants.

Participants will earn 3 credits toward SPOOM Miller training program.
